Characteristics of titanium foil
Characteristics of titanium foil
Titanium foil is a titanium plate, strip, roll or sheet with a thickness of less than or equal to 0.1mm. Another index for assessing the thickness of titanium foil is the weight per unit area, such as g / m or oz / fi. The greater the value, the greater the thickness. The width of titanium foil is obtained by cutting according to the user's requirements. However, the greater the width during manufacturing, the higher the productivity. The length of roll body determines the maximum width of rolled foil. The wider, thinner and harder the rolled piece is, the harder it is to roll. The maximum width of rolled titanium foil is about 600mm. Titanium and alloy foils are mainly used in electronics, aerospace, instrumentation and other departments.

Product features
Titanium foil is mainly used in aerospace, navigation, nuclear power, electronics, chemical industry, petroleum, precision manufacturing, Medical Pharmacy and so on.
Titanium has six characteristics:
1. High strength: the strength / density ratio of titanium is better than other metals. Titanium can be used to make components with high strength, good rigidity and light weight. Titanium is used in aircraft engines, frames, skins, fasteners and landing gears.
2. Corrosion protection: compared with stainless steel, titanium alloy has better corrosion effect in humid air and seawater. Titanium has great resistance to point corrosion, acid corrosion and stress corrosion. Titanium is resistant to alkali, chloride, chlorinated organic matter, sulfuric acid and nitric acid.
3. High temperature resistance: the application temperature of titanium is higher than that of aluminum alloy. Titanium can work for a long time at 450-500 ℃. Titanium alloy stil has high strength at the working temperature of 150-500 ℃. The working temperature of titanium can reach 500 ℃.
4. Low temperature resistance: titanium alloy still has its mechanical properties when working under low or ultra-low temperature conditions. Titanium alloy with low temperature resistance and very low gap still has good ductility. Therefore, titanium alloy is a good low temperature structural material.
5. Environmentally friendly metals: the thermal conductivity of titanium is lower than that of carbon steel or copper, but titanium has very good corrosion resistance. Therefore, the thickness of titanium can be greatly reduced, and the heat exchange mode is drop by drop condensation between titanium and steam. This mode reduces the heat transfer resistance, and there is no scaling on the titanium surface, so that the thermal conductivity of titanium is better.
6. Good thermal conductivity: titanium is a non-magnetic metal, which cannot be magnetized in a large magnetic field, and titanium is non-toxic and compatible with blood. Therefore, titanium has been applied in the medical field.
Mode of production
Rolling:
Flat roll strip rolling is the widely used manufacturing method of titanium foil, which has high productivity, large scale and output. Basically, six high cold rolling mill or 20 high cold rolling mill are used for production.
Heat treatment:
There are two main heat treatment methods for titanium strip and foil: vacuum annealing and continuous on-line protective annealing. Vacuum annealing is to place roll or sheet titanium foil in a vacuum furnace for heat treatment; Continuous on-line protective annealing of titanium strip foil is a new technology introduced in recent years. Compared with vacuum annealing, it has higher production efficiency and higher improvement in product quality, but the equipment threshold is high, especially in terms of product quality and mechanical properties of titanium strip foil.
