Titanium is widely used in many departments of national economy because of its excellent corrosion resistance, mechanical properties and process properties. Especially in chemical production, using titanium instead of stainless steel, nickel base alloy and other rare metals as corrosion-resistant materials is of great significance to increase output, improve product quality, prolong equipment service life, reduce consumption, reduce energy consumption, reduce cost, prevent pollution, improve working conditions and improve productivity. In recent years, the scope of titanium materials for chemical industry in China is expanding, and the consumption is increasing year by year. Titanium materials have become one of the main anti-corrosion materials in chemical equipment. As a corrosion-resistant structural material used in chemical plants, titanium has established its position, and as an ideal material in chemical equipment, titanium has attracted more and more attention of engineers and technicians.

1. Chlor alkali industry

Chlor alkali industry is an important basic raw material industry, and its production and development have a great impact on the national economy. This is because the corrosion resistance of titanium to chloride ion is better than that of common stainless steel and other non-ferrous metals. At present, titanium is widely used in chlor alkali industry to manufacture metal anode electrolytic cell, ion-exchange membrane electrolytic cell, wet chlorine cooler, refined brine preheater, dechlorination tower, chlorine cooling scrubber, etc. In the past, non-metallic materials (such as graphite, polyvinyl chloride, etc.) were mostly used as the main parts of these equipment. The mechanical properties, thermal stability and processing performance of non-metallic materials were not ideal, resulting in bulky equipment, high energy consumption and short service life, affecting product quality and polluting the environment.

2. Soda ash industry

Soda ash is one of the basic chemical raw materials, which is directly related to the development of national economy. In the process of soda ash production, most of the gas media are NH3 and CO2, and most of the liquid media are solutions with high concentration of NaC1, NH4C1, NH4HCO3 and C1. The main equipment such as carbonization tower tube, hot mother liquor cooler, cooler and crystallization external cooler made of carbon drink and cast iron for carbonation reaction are not corrosion resistant, with serious corrosion leakage and service life of no more than three years.
